hi
okay. so this is kind of a serious post, which is why i'm not going to put capital letters. why? i don't know. i haven't been on my computer for the past day and i haven't checked the blogs for even longer, so i was checking out the newest stuff on everyone's blogs when i saw some arguing in the comments of lilcrazydoggo56. ok before we get into the issues, i am sorry about that roblox incident, lilcrazydoggo56. (can i call you lil? it's easier to write) *exhale* so if you're not in the loop, lil announced that she will be writing a sequel to crimson. oliver (potato productions) said in the comments that it couldn't be an actual, to quote, "canon" part of the story, after which they had an argument. there are some things i would like to say. first of all, i think that among us bloggers, we should try to be nice to each other and not fight. i understand that sometimes you just get angry and have to say something, but it's still the best we can do to think about our actions. second of all, please ask me before you write any story involving my characters. no offense, oliver, but i don't consider your story to be completely canon. and lil, we could have avoided this whole debacle if you had just said that yours wasn't canon. so i think the moral of the story here is, DON'T STEAL MY CHARACTERS!!! just kidding. the moral is to... someone help me think of a moral!!!!! Now the serious stuff is over, my pod friend and I watched Twilight together to see how bad it really is. IT'S BAD. EDWARD IS A STALKER LIKE WTH?! Also, we watched the new Wonder Woman 1984 movie! It's good! A bit confusing since I haven't seen the first as of this post... but good!!! Also, I'm thinking of doing an outro on my posts after my little message to you guys. Some ideas I had were *woks away* and Bye Stars! (cause, the name Paper Star) Leave some suggestions or votes in the comments please!!! (insert outro here) Hi everyone! Happy Christmas! How was your Christmas Eve (if you celebrate)? I had a Christmas pudding! WE LIT IT ON FIRE
it was awesome!!!! Well, as promised, here's the Christmas story! ELAINE'S CHRISTMAS CAROL Meet Elaine! She’ll be your main character for this story. Now, before we begin, there are some things you need to know about Elaine.
3. She likes to paint and she also is part of several clubs at NYU. 4. She’s the youngest in her family of five (brother Drew, sister Carrie, mother Margaret, and father Jon). 5. Said family lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts and she’s going home for Christmas. 6. Elaine has presents for everyone in her family, except her new baby niece, whom she’s planning to shop for at home in Cambridge. Well, that’s it! Let us begin… It was a snowy, bright day in Cambridge. After (hopefully) acing her exams and packing in a rush, Elaine hopped on the 45-minute flight home, breezed through customs, and snagged a Lyft. The driver was an extremely talkative woman named Kathy, who grilled Elaine on the circumstances of her visit and her Cambridge connections while blaring obnoxious earworm Christmas music from the speakers. By the time they reached Elaine’s family home, she was glad to be out of that car, although not so much to be rid of the neverending Lifesavers that Kathy kept well-stocked. As she stepped out of the car, Kathy gave her a way-too-long goodbye considering they had met 15 minutes ago. Elaine exhaled and looked up at the house. It was relatively large and had been in the family since the 1950’s. She only realized that she had been staring at it for a long time when her phone rang with a text from her brother. Hey Elaine, where are you? We’re waiting for you! Elaine then dragged her suitcase through the already thick snow all the way up to the house. When she finally reached the door, she was huffing and puffing. As soon as she rang the doorbell, the door flung open and she was greeted with shouts of “Aunt Elaine, Aunt Elaine!” as well as her oldest brother’s calm voice saying, “Don’t crowd her!” Elaine grinned as Drew struggled to hold back his two little girls, who were now bombarding her with questions almost faster than she could answer them. “What’s it like in New York??” “Do you eat lots of bagels?” “Are you getting good grades?” “Where do you live?” “How do you get around?” “Is it true that college students have lots of parties?” “Do you have a boyfriend?” Laughing, Elaine responded, “Loud, yes, I think so, on college grounds, walking or the subway, yes but I don’t go, and no. Well, I did, but we broke up a few months ago.” The girls - Ella and Diane - continued to gasp and chatter, but soon leapt out of their tired-looking father’s arms at the call of, “Appetizers!” and left to go devour the saltines. Little troublemakers. It reminded Elaine of her and her sister Emma when they were younger. She was stirred from her reminiscences by someone calling, “Elaine! Dinner’s on the table!” Dinner was a fantastic meal cooked in part by Elaine’s uncle Charles and her mother. They had beef stew with a light salad and fresh rye bread from the bakery down the street. Apparently Uncle Charles had been to England over the summer and gotten a good recipe there. After dinner, everyone went into the living room to play board games. The twins were very competitive, but what else would you expect? Elaine went to bed content. The next day… Elaine woke up around 8:30 the next morning. She had been planning on sleeping late, but the twins (of course) ran around the hall screaming about “Aunt Carrie’s baby”. Oh no… Elaine thought. Her sister Carrie and her little boy were arriving at one o’clock today and she still hadn’t gotten a present for… what was his name again? Oh yeah, Oak. Elaine sighed and swung herself out of bed, dressed herself in some warm leggings and a thick sweater, then grabbed her parka and purse and raced out the door, snagging an apple as she went. Elaine shivered happily as she walked through the snowy streets of Cambridge, waving to people as she went. She reached the store she was looking for after a short 10 minute walk. Apparently this had been family-owned since Carrie was a baby, and it was where most of their clothes had come from as babies. The woman working at the shop knew her instantly, despite how much she’d “grown” since July. Elaine explained about the circumstances of her visit, and was immediately shown to the 3-month-old section of the store, where she received a lecture on the different types of things sold there. Elaine eventually settled on an elephant-patterned swaddling blanket, paid for it, and went home. When Caroline came from the airport, it was chaos. Oak was screaming his lungs out while Carrie struggled to calm him down and get situated. After the storm had passed, everyone took turns holding him and commenting on his cuteness. They then enjoyed a late lunch of do-it-yourself sandwiches. Now, since Christmas Eve is still a whole week from now, we’re going to skip forward a bit. *** Ah, Christmas Eve. Arguably better than Christmas Day, in Elaine’s family, there was a tradition of having a white elephant and decorating the tree that night. Their traditional dinner was roast chicken with asparagus and broccoli. Everyone got up early (well, at 8:00) to wrap presents, shop for last-minute gifts, and bake. The twins, of course, were always sneaking in and out of the kitchen to sample some cookie dough or snag a peppermint. As for Elaine, she was mostly wrapping presents - everyone entrusted her their gifts to wrap - and walking her father Jon’s Bernese mountain dog and feeding her mother Margaret’s fish. Somehow Uncle Charles got stuck with Oak, even though he’d never had any children of his own. “Better to have nieces and nephews. That way, you can spoil them but not have to be responsible for them.” he’d said on one occasion. After a busy day, Carrie, Drew, Elaine, Ella and Diane, Jon, Margaret and Charles all settle down to a delicious dinner. It was wolfed down in approximately 10 minutes. After that, everyone went into the living room for White Elephant. If you don’t know what that is, it’s where each person gets a gift for everyone playing, then lay out their gift which someone will pick at random. If that’s a bad explanation, just google it.Elaine had gotten a nice knitted scarf. And so went the White Elephant. Ella had gotten a game of Clue, which she had quickly traded for her sister’s Uno. Drew picked Elaine’s scarf, and Carrie got a pine-scented candle. Halfway through the game, Carrie brought out the gingerbread cookies she had made. Everyone had at least one or two, except for the twins, who had three each. Uncle Charles selected a nice notebook, while Elaine’s mother got a bouquet of wilted flowers from their neighbor’s garden (courtesy of the twins). Jon received a dog-shaped belt buckle, and the last gift (for Elaine) contained a book of stories by Poe. By now, it was 8 o’clock, so the twins got to stay up extra late and watch A Charlie Brown Christmas with the family. After leaving out some cookies for Santa, everyone went to bed. The next morning, the twins woke everyone up at seven. Everyone sleepily trundled downstairs in their bathrobes and pajamas, the Drew made everyone coffee so they could wake up. The twins were, as you can imagine, VERY eager to open their presents. I won’t go through everyone’s gifts, but some highlights included the twins’ hamster gift certificate, a gift from their parents that guaranteed them a hamster, hamster cage, and food as soon as they got home to California, Uncle Charles’ gift to Elaine - a portable easel complete with watercolors, brushes, and pastels, and Carrie, Elaine, and Drew’s collective gift for their parents - the complete works of William Shakespeare. The day was full of traditions. Pancakes and bacon for breakfast, visits to all their closest friends, the tennis courts, and of course, as FANTASTIC Christmas dinner, containing a Christmas ham with all the trimmings as well as a Yule Log cake. The night was wrapped off with a Christmas puzzle. THE END Yes, I know I wrote without including murder or fantasy. Don’t come at me!! Was it any good? What presents did you get if you celebrated Christmas? Or Hanukkah? Or Kwanzaa? Or another holiday I forgot to mention? Also, has anyone seen Happiest Season? It’s basically my new favorite Christmas movie. Of. All. time. Although I have some… opinions. Happy Holidays! HELLO!! Sorry I haven't been posting I have a couple things to say: 1: We found a wok in our garage. Apparently my mom hates it and put it in the garage so she wouldn't have to see it every day. Here's the wok: 2: I am now part of a blog called Always Buried in Books! 3: Happy 6th night of Hanukkah!
4: I will be writing a Christmas story ("Elaine's Christmas Carol" as of now) on Christmas morning! Well, that's it! *woks away* |
