Hi hi!
Here are the two books I read last week and what I thought of them. I'M ON A READING KICK I JUST GOT OUT OF A HUGE SLUMP ALSO A BLOGGING KICK IGNORE THE THREE POSTS IN TWO DAYS and when I say that I mean I will probably spam-blog and then go back to my mostly-once-a-week sort-of schedule Okay let’s get into it! Book 1 The Graces by Laure Eve ✰✰✰✰✰ YA Yes, yes, yes. One of the deepest books I’ve read in so long. The writing? Immaculate. The plot? Amazing. The characters?! I can’t even begin to explain. Some of the representation is a liiiittle iffy in the beginning, but that only happens like once. It changed my perspective on the world so much and yet it’s not even philosophical. It’s just a book about a girl who wants to be “in with the crowd.” But “the crowd” are ethereal, loved town celebrities and the girl feels like they are the only ones who can make her herself. Bonus points: they’re witches(???). It’s very complicated and hard to explain, but so riveting. Also, I WANT THALIA’S STYLE. Book 2 The Selection by Kiera Cass ✰✰✰✰ YA I’ve heard so much about this book that I finally had to cave and read it. It’s actually really good! Not super deep or action-packed or anything, but I enjoyed it. It’s about a girl who gets selected (hence the name) to compete against 35 other girls for the hand of the prince. But PLOT TWIST: she doesn’t even want to marry him. It would have been another five-star, but I took off points because it is a bit too much like the idea for a novel I had two years ago. Also there are sex scenes. Okay thanks for reading! I might do more of these as I’m on a reading kick - having just come out of a month-long reading slump. I’m so proud of myself for that though. *woks away* PAY MY TITLE NO MIND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO PUT AND THAT WAS THE FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MIND DON'T ASK WHY I DONT KNOW
• Okay but Murder She Wrote actually slaps.
BONK Picking out peoples’ outfits My library books (post on them coming soon) Mushrooms Aaand that concludes this post. *woks away* It was the old lady. The old lady was Janie’s grandma, and she liked Janie’s half-brother more than Janie. She had written her will a long time ago, before Janie’s half-brother was born, when Janie was her only living descendant. But she now wanted to change it. However, Janie was blackmailing her, just like she was blackmailing all of her “friends.” Janie wanted the money, so she threatened to let out Grandma’s big secret if she changed the will. Grandma got in cahoots with the half-brother, trying to get Janie to let her change the will. She didn’t. So, Grandma killed her with her walking stick. She always bothered Janie because she was trying to get her to stop blackmailing her so she could change the will. That way, the half-brother got all the money. Technically, if you guessed half-brother (which a lot of you did) you were sort of right?
What did you think of this idea? Did you guess right? Should I do it again? Was this too hard? Answer in the comments! *woks away* Every day, Janie followed a very strict routine. She woke up at 7:15 on the dot, then put on the clothes she had picked out the night before. Janie then proceeded to go outside and feed her chickens and collect eggs. Afterward, she made herself a basil and tomato omelet with basils, eggs, and tomatoes from her garden. She ate it with a cup of coffee with one creamer. Next, she went for a walk in the nearby forest, where she passed an old lady with a heavy walking stick that didn't seem to fit her small stature. She always bothered Janie, but Janie knew a secret about her. When she got back, the mailman was always just stopping by, and she invited him in for lunch. They had watercress and cucumber sandwiches. He always seemed a little irked about something, although it probably wasn’t the thing Janie had done all those years ago. Once the mailman left, Janie biked into town to her job as bookkeeper at the local library. She had one colleague, a man named John. He hadn’t talked to her in all the time she’d been working with him. Janie always wondered if he was involved in the thing with the mailman. He did look oddly familiar… At 5:30, she left, and got back to her little cabin at 5:47 PM. She made veggie pot pie for dinner and after, she washed her dishes. Next, she got a phone call from her half-brother, asking her to ask her grandma to change her will so he got all the money. She denied him. From then until 7:30, she read a book. Then, she allowed herself to spend two hours watching her favorite TV show. Before she went to sleep, she picked out her outfit for the next day. Janie was found dead. Who killed her? a. The old lady b. the mailman c. John d. her half brother. Please comment, and correct answers coming soon! *woks away* |
