Hi! So you know Aisling from yesterday? You don't? Well just scroll down and see her! Anyway, she gave me ~*iNsPiRaTiOn*~ (cue violins). Whenever I have drawing that I really like, I'll write a story around it! So, here's my story about Aisling. Aisling shuddered. She'd never been to a masquerade ball before, especially not right after a performance. Her voice was tired from playing Mimi in La Boheme, and she hoped that no one would engage her in a long conversation. Her voice was always dry and crackly after a performance. Aisling glared at the large purple gown with teal embellishments hanging from the wardrobe. She'd worn more extravagant costumes, of course, being an opera singer, but for some reason, even though it was completely her style, she felt reluctant to put it on. Suddenly, her friend Olivia (Liv for short), the mayor's daughter (spoiled rotten if you asked anyone in the town), burst through the door, talking all the way. "... so anyway, then I told her - Lili, why aren't you dressed?" Liv herself was wearing an enormous pink dress with puffed sleeves and had her hair piled up on her head in a precarious-looking beehive with all sorts of things stuck in it. A toy cat, several bottle caps, a flyer for some lost dog, a pen and notepad and - was that a program for Aisling' most recent opera? "Sorry, Livvy, I was taking a bath," Aisling said. "Uh-huh, sure, well, anyways, get your dress on so I can do your hair and we can go! That limo isn't going to drive itself! Oh, wait." Liv giggled. "It is! I hired a chauffeur." Still chattering about this and that, Liv pushed Aisling into the bathroom and shoved in the dress after her. "Let me know if you need anything!" Aisling sighed. She loved Liv, but sometimes she could be a handful. She grabbed the pile of fabric that was her dress and stepped into it. Surprisingly, it was easy to put on. She stepped out of the bathroom and called to her friend. "Livvy, could you lace me up?" Liv scampered across the room and tied up her corset. "A little looser, please," said Aisling. Liv obliged. "Thank me later. Now let's do your hair!" cried Liv. She plopped Aisling down in front of the vanity and made sounds like, "hmm... what about... no..." until she finally came up with a hairstyle. Two curls on either side of the head. "EEEEE!" Liv shrieked. " Lili! You look AMAZING! Now let's go! Grab your mask and come on!" Liv yanked Aisling out the door and down the stairs of the apartment building. Waiting for the was a black stretch limousine that reached almost all the way down the block. Inside were two throne-like chairs, a minifridge, a video game console, a plasma screen TV and several bottles of the finest champagne. Liv squealed with delight. *** Finally, after a long drive involving lots of giggling on Liv's part, they arrived. The party was being hosted by the richest people in town - the Crawfords. They had a son named Philip and a huge mansion, which for the party had been illuminated by fireworks and disco light. Liv thanked their chauffeur and tipped him, then practically leapt out of the limo. She grabbed Aisling and lead her down the path towards the door, clicking her heels along the pavement. "Wait. We have to have secret names! Okay, I'll be Madame Esmerelda Cortelier, and you can be... Daisy. Sound good?" Aisling nodded. "okay." Liv took a deep breath and strutted up to the butler standing at the door. He stroked his mustache and demanded, "Invitatiuns?" He had a very nasally voice. Liv rummaged around in her clutch until she found the envelopes, intact albeit crumpled. The butler took a look, said "approved", then asked for their names. "Oh, I'm Madame Esmerelda Cortelier and this is Daisy." The butler stepped inside and yelled, "INTRODUCING MADAME ESMERELDA CORTELIER AND DAISY!" They entered into a huge ballroom, with couples dancing all over. There were long tables full of refreshments, and long gold banners hung from the walls. Aisling let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. Liv - sorry, Madame Esmerelda Cortelier - tugged up her bodice, scampered down the stairs and went straight into the crowd to mingle. Aisling sighed. She'd known this would happen. She walked down the stairs and headed towards the refreshments. *** Aisling felt awkward. She'd been standing near the refreshments eating finger sandwiches and little cakes for almost 20 minutes. If she didn't dance soon, she would be there all night! Suddenly, a voice shook her out of her thoughts. "Another socially awkward person, I see." Aisling whipped around and accidentally threw a piece of cake at them. "Woah, jeez! Sorry!" they said. "No, I'm sorry!" cried Aisling. "I didn't mean to!" The person smiled. Aisling saw that she was wearing a green dress decorated with vines and flowers. "I like your dress," she said. "I'm Aisling - wait! I'm not supposed to tell anyone my name..." " That's okay! I'll keep your secret. I'm Kara. Nice to meet you." Kara held out her hand and Aisling shook it. Not to be rude," Kara said. "But why is your voice so crackly?" Aisling blushed. "I'm an opera singer, and my friend dragged me here right after a performance. Where- there she is. " She pointed across the room to where Liv was flirting with an entire crowd of tuxedo-wearers and sighed. Kara laughed then assumed a funny air, that of a snooty nobleman. "May I have this dance?" she said, imitating the butler outside. Aisling responded with an impression of Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey. "Well, I don't see why not!" They stepped out onto the dance floor together and joined in the waltz, very clumsily. At one point, Kara convinced the band to play loud dance music and everyone there danced. Aisling wasn't sure for how long they danced, but when a slightly tipsy Liv came to tell her it was time to go, Kara wrote her phone number on Aisling's hand. "Call me." HOW WAS THAT? great huh? Well I did another drawing today, and she'll be the subject of my next one of these. What do you think I should call them? Please comment because I have no idea! And here she is! Who is she? College-age Crimson? A ruthless killing machine? An adorable cottagecore girl? Find out next time on... guys seriously I need help with the name.

BIDEN WON! thank the gods that lunatic is out of office. Also, I dunno if it's a thing now, but some bloggers have been showing their art style on their blogs, so I'm jumping in the bandwagon! Here's a drawing I did from today (sorry about the messy edges, I didn't feel like outlining today). I'll call her... Aisling! (pronounced EES-ling)
Thanks and bye! |
